SecureMyDealer
How Botdoc serves the automotive vertical. Three products, one Secure Digital Transport (SDT) Engine, in production at dealers nationwide.
What it is.
SecureMyDealer is the unified automotive product family from Botdoc. It is not a new product. It is the umbrella that wraps the three production products we already ship to dealers today (Connect, Lite, ID Verify) plus the growing set of capabilities we are building for dealer compliance and deal-room transport.
Auto was the first vertical we ever built on the SDT Engine, and it is still the vertical with the deepest install base. Dealerships, dealer groups, OEMs, and Dealer Management System (DMS) partners have been running on Botdoc for years. SecureMyDealer is how we name that work now that the family is large enough to need its own roof.
Every product in the family runs on the same SDT Engine. Same patented transport, same compliance posture, same zero-login customer experience. What changes between the products is the workflow they sit inside and the size of the dealership they were built for.
Why this was hard to do before SDT.
Auto retail is the textbook case for why generic secure-document tools fail. The customer is in the showroom for forty-five minutes. The sales staff lives on text and email because that is what closes deals. The Finance and Insurance (F&I) office has to collect driver's license, proof of insurance, pay stubs, and trade paperwork, and any friction in that collection adds days to the deal or loses it entirely.
Before SDT, a dealership wanting to comply with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Safeguards Rule (16 CFR Part 314) had to choose between a customer portal nobody uses, a secure email gateway the sales floor will not adopt, or a paper process the F&I office cannot scale. The result was the same in every store: sales staff defaulted to text and unsecured email, and the dealership absorbed the regulatory exposure.
The SDT Engine made it possible to remove the customer-side login entirely. The dealership employee starts a session, the customer responds inside their text thread, and the encrypted documents land in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or DMS already verified. The sales floor uses it because it is the same flow they were already using. The compliance happens in the transport, not in a behavior-change program.
The SecureMyDealer family.
Three products, all live and in production at dealers nationwide. Each is built on the same patented SDT Engine, which means the same compliance posture, the same encrypted transport, and the same no-login customer experience underneath all three. The choice between them is a question of dealership size, integration appetite, and which step of the F&I workflow you most need to fix first. Pick the one that matches your dealership size and workflow, or deploy them in combination across a multi-rooftop group to match different stores to different variants without standing up parallel infrastructure.
- Connect: The full CRM and DMS-integrated dealership workflow. Auto-populates leads, validates IDs, appends customer records, removes manual entry from the F&I office.
- Lite: Purpose-built for smaller dealers and franchise groups. On-demand secure sessions over text and email, with no permanent file storage and no integration project.
- ID Verify: Real-time driver's license and ID verification against the issuing agency. Used inside Connect and Lite or as a standalone feature in the dealer workflow.
What the SDT Engine made possible across the family.
- Zero customer-side login: Driver's license, proof of insurance, pay stubs, and trade paperwork all upload from the same text or email thread the customer was already using with the salesperson. No app. No account. No download.
- CRM and DMS write-back: Customer leads and documents auto-populate into the dealership's CRM or DMS. Existing records get appended. The F&I office stops re-keying data from screenshots.
- Real-time ID verification: Driver's license and ID information verified instantly against the issuing agency, not a stale database. Built into the same flow, not a separate vendor.
- Sales floor adopts it: Same flow as text and email. No new app on the salesperson's phone. Adoption is not a launch program, it is the default path.
- Zero residual footprint: Documents are accessible for the window the dealership sets. No permanent file storage. No breach surface to defend at audit time.
- Unlimited file size: No artificial caps. The salesperson does not have to coach a customer through a 25 MB email limit.
- User-level reporting: Per-user utilization reports for compliance posture and team management. Performance review built into the platform, not bolted on.
Where it fits in the dealership workflow.
SecureMyDealer covers the dealership end to end, from the first customer touch on the website through the signed deal in the F&I office. Test-drive scheduling on the website pulls customer information securely without a portal. Customer engagement in the showroom and on the lot works through Quick Response (QR) codes or Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) cards that start a secure session in seconds. F&I document collection, trade-in paperwork, and compliance file capture at signing all run through the same encrypted channel.
The dealership employee uses the workflow they already know. The customer never leaves the text or email conversation they were already in. The deal moves faster because the friction is gone, and the compliance posture is built into the transport from the first text message forward through closing and the F&I signing table.
Compliance posture.
The FTC Safeguards Rule (16 CFR Part 314) put the entire auto retail industry on the hook for in-transit encryption of customer financial data. Dealers do not have an opt-out. SecureMyDealer is built so the in-transit encryption is the path of least resistance, not the path the sales floor avoids.
Every product in the family runs on the same patented SDT Engine. The transport layer is the compliance layer. Audit trails on every document. No customer credentials in the dealership environment. No password resets to staff. The compliance review is faster because the architecture is simpler.
